FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method of eliminating mustard involves reaction with thiocarbamide, dissolved in water, with subsequent mixing in a reaction mixture and heating. The reaction is carried out in a solution of a mixture of isopropyl alcohol and water, taken in a ratio of 1:1. The mixture is heated to 70°C for 1 hour. Complete detoxification is attained after less than 10 minutes.
EFFECT: increased speed of reaction and increased selectivity of the process and complete destruction.
