FIELD: iron and steel industry; out-of -furnace treatment of steel.
SUBSTANCE: method includes high base slag formation, deoxidisation of steel, metal blasting with argon and introducing calcium containing materials in two stages at an installation furnace-ladle. During the first stage before introducing calcium containing materials a slag thickness is measured. Also metal oxidation is measured and silicon content in metal is determined. Further the first stage of introducing silicon containing materials is performed with consumption determined by dependence on silicon content in metal, on metal oxidation and on slag thickness. Then metal is being finished up to a required chemical composition and temperature. Further the second stage of introducing silicon containing materials is carried out with consumption determined by dependence on sulphur, silicon and aluminium contents in metal.
EFFECT: production of metal with required oxidation.
