SUBSTANCE: can be applied for ignition and supply of gas-discharge lamps, specifically powerful ultraviolet sterilisers applied for disinfection of various mediums. Method of gas-discharge lamp ignition implies that lamp electrodes pending lamp ignition are heated with shunted lamp interelectrode distance, while voltage for lamp interelectrode distance to ignite and keep burning current is supplied after electrodes heated-up and shunting removed. Lamp interelectrode distance is shunted with high-voltage switch activated according to algorhythm designed in microcontroller memory.
EFFECT: increased service life and number of lamp activations.
