SUBSTANCE: method and system are proposed for searching signals of location detection using several modes of search with gradually increasing sensitivity. Here, some modes of search include a mode of the first level, a mode of the second level and, at least, one mode of higher level. If any of the parameters of the search range exceeds the preset limits, searching the first level is effected and, in response to the search results obtained, parameters of the range of search are made more accurate so that they lie within the preset limits. Then, searching the second level is carried to obtain measurements from the received results of search. If these measurements satisfy the chosen criteria of sufficiency of measurements, additional search is not made in trying fixing the location. If measurements do not satisfy the chosen criteria of sufficiency of measurements, search of a higher level with a higher sensitivity is effected.
EFFECT: increase in accuracy of fixing the object location.
