FIELD: measuring instruments.
SUBSTANCE: apparatus comprises a housing, a sensing element, a magnetic bearing and a signal pickup unit. The sensing element has the form of a cylindrical turbine being mounted in line with the pipeline of measured gas flow and comprising separate sections, coaxially arranged with respect to each other and provided with longitudinal channels. There is a band of a non-magnetic conductive sheet material arranged between the sections, and there is a shell of a non-magnetic conductive material attached along the turbine perimeter. The magnetic bearing has the form of one or several pairs of annular or bow-shaped permanent magnets, which are mounted onto the apparatus housing via a magnetic circuit and arranged equidistant from one or several pairs of annular or bow-shaped magnets, which are mounted onto the shell. The signal pickup unit has the form of an optical sensor being mounted into the groove of one of said permanent magnets and light reflectors being mounted to one or several pairs of annular or bow-shapes permanent magnets of the turbine.
EFFECT: increasing the accuracy and extending the range of gas flow rate measurement.
