FIELD: analysis of polymer molecules.
SUBSTANCE: high performance chromatograph columns are used. The columns are filled with a sorbent and are characterised by high separation efficiency. The sorbent is highly cross-linked polydivinylbenzene. The eluent is distilled water with pH equal to the pH of the analysed sample. The sorbent is soaked with water, while silic acid and its oligomers and polymers remain in the solution without change and precipitation of silicon dioxide. The calibration relationship for calculations is obtained using samples of dextran polymers with subsequent conversion to polymer molecules of silic acid. The first chromatographic peak for calculating molecular-mass distribution of polymer molecules of silic acid is corrected by removing impurities of metallic salts from the chromatograph. When determining molecular mass distribution on polymers of silic acid in water solutions, the injector, chromatograph column, eluent tract in the refractometer, strapping of quartz cuvettes, inlet and outlet capillaries, joining the quartz cuvette to the chromatograph column, are not metallic in order to prevent precipitation of silicon dioxide.
EFFECT: invention allows for determining the state and molecular mass distribution of polymer molecules of silic acid in geothermal water solutions, in which there is prevention of precipitation of salts of metals - cations Na+, Ca2+, K+, Mg2+, change of pH, lower concentration of monomer silic acid and change of molecular mass distribution of polymer molecules of silic acid in geothermal solutions.
