SWITCHING COMMUNICATION CHANNELS IN INACTIVE MODE WITH CHANNEL SUBSTITUTION ACCORDING TO LIST OF NEIGHBOURS Russian patent published in 2008 - IPC H04Q7/38 H04B7/26

Abstract RU 2330387 C2

FIELD: information technology.

SUBSTANCE: disclosed are the methods allowing to avoid switching of the communication channels to the channel with attenuation due to frequency fading at the signal minimisation in the inactive mode. In one aspect, the access terminal defines the designated channel at the access point and caches the channel. In another aspect, the access terminal replaces the default channel connected with the cache memory access point, with the designated channel. In another aspect, the access terminal uses the cached channel connected to the cache memory access point while measuring the neighbour access points channel quality to be used in defining the channels for switching. In yet another aspect, the access terminal performs communication channels switching to the cached channel of the neighbour access point while switching the communication channels.

EFFECT: reducing the channel's frequency-dependent characteristics influence on the communication channel switching decision making, thus avoiding communication channel switching to an access point when the designated channel can make errors.
