FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in chemically aggressive melts and also in melts sensitive to escaping from electrodes carbon. The electrode contains a current conductive core and has a protective coat made out of electro conductive material, neutral to a melt and slag. The protective coat completely envelopes the electrode region contacting with a melt or slag. The cores of electrodes are input into a ceramic protective coat which is stationary installed in a furnace.
EFFECT: expands application of electrodes and upgrades their reliability in operation.
