FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of basic organic and petrochemical synthesis and can be used in the production of 4,4-dimethyl-1,3-dioxane by condensation of isobutylene and formaldehyde. Carbon nanotubes with a pore diameter 7–11 Å as a heterogeneous cocatalyst. Therein synthesis of DMD is carried out in the presence of 5.0–5.5 wt.% of phosphoric acid, based on the weight of the reaction mixture taken as the basic acid catalyst.
EFFECT: increasing the selectivity of the formation of 4,4-dimethyl-1,3-dioxane.
