FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ecology of automotive transport and can be used to entrap petroleum vapors evaporating from the vehicle fuel tank, carburetor, injection chamber. Invention allows increasing the degree of petroleum vapor desorption in operation of adsorber by 40 to 50% and simplifying the device design. The proposed adsorber contains a cylindrical casing with a petroleum-air mix and air inlet and outlet branch pipes arranged on the adsorber cover, a hollow sorption unit arranged coaxially inside the casing and furnished, on both end faces, with rings with a welt, a tank accumulating a liquid phase and a sealing gasket. Note that the lower and upper rings have ledges that protrude into the unit space, the air branch pipe enters the space via the upper ring ledge and is sealed with the O-ring. The petroleum-air mix inlet and outlet branch pipes are isolated.
EFFECT: simpler adsorber design, higher degree of desorption.
