FIELD: mechanical engineering; engines.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for entrapping gasoline fumes formed in fuel system (fuel tank, carburetor, injection chamber). Proposed absorber contains housing, cover with gasoline-air mixture inlet and outlet branch pipes, feed pipe, upper and lower perforated grids with fitted-on linings, layer of granulated activated carbon, sealing system, inlet and outlet spaces. Housing is made rounded off four sides. Cover is provided with two hollow condensate collectors to which branch pipes are connected. Feed pipe provided with distance pieces from inlet end. Sealing system is installed at outlet end of feed pipe, being essentially locking plate with pressure boss fitted oo out end of feed pipe and fixed on pipe by means of slot. Lower grid is provided with skirting to from outlet space. Height of inlet space is 1.8 - 2.5 of height of outlet space.
EFFECT: increased desorption of n-butane (as main volatile fraction of gasoline) at operation of absorber at low temperatures by 20-30%, facilitated manufacture of absorber.
