ADSORBER FOR ENTRAPPING GASOLINE FUMES IN AUTOMOBILE FUEL SYSTEM Russian patent published in 2001 - IPC

FIELD: automotive industry. SUBSTANCE: proposed invention can be used for entrapping gasoline fumes evaporating from fuel tank and carburetor. Adsorber has cylindrical housing, cover with inlet and outlet branch pipes, feed pipe, condensate collector, outlet space, layer of adsorbent and electromagnetic valve with blow-through branch pipe. Collector has two-section cylindrical insert with central branch pipe for delivery of liquid phase and communication holes. Volume ratio of inner and outer sections is 1:10 - 19. diameter of pipe equal to 0.09-0.12 of diameter of housing. Volume of outlet space is equal to 0.04-0.08 of adsorbent layer volume. Cover is connected with housing by locking slot with layer of sealant or by welding. Layer of adsorbent can be either grained or block-type. Layer can be provided with three braces arranged at angle of 120 deg. relative to each other. EFFECT: improved dynamic activity of adsorber by N-butane in cyclic process to 7-20%, enhanced reliability in operation. 4 cl, 2 dwg
