FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: invention is referred to electric engineering, namely, to connecting elements for electrodes. Connecting elements from carbon materials contain carbon fibres having surface activated by oxidation and extra carburised coating. Coating is a carbonisation product of overlying material - wax, pitch, natural resin, thermoplastic or thermo-reactive polymer. Method of connecting element production includes activation of carbon fibres surface by oxidation, coating with overlying material, processing at 750-1300°C for coating carbonisation, formation of cylindrical bodies from coke, pitch and additional filler mixture. Formed cylindrical bodies are subject to carbonisation, graphitisation and shaping as threaded connecting elements. Invention allows for improving connecting elements strength, reducing probability of fractures or other damages at the point of connection.
EFFECT: improvement of connecting element strength and reduction of damages likelihood at the point of connection.
