FIELD: agriculture.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to agriculture and forestry and can be used for freezing tolerance evaluation and selection of the best types of wild pistachio. One-year whips are selected and preserved in a 96% alcohol with addition of one part of glycerin. Freezing tolerance is determined by making a crosswise cut of the ligneous part of one-year whips and observing resin channels in the bark. Whereby, if the resin channels depth reaches 0.53-0.59 mm than the shoots frost-hardy; if the resin channels depth reaches 1.05-1.13 than the shoot are considered to be damaged. This method allows increasing efficiency of freezing tolerance evaluation.
EFFECT: increase of freezing tolerance evaluation efficiency.
