FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to metallurgy and can be used for fabrication of rail crosspieces, points, as well as other items operating under friction and wear conditions. Steel contains, mass %: carbon 0.2-0.3; silicon 1.5-2.0; manganese 18.0-22.0; chromium 10.0-14.0; calcium 0.005-0.01; boron 0.1-0.15; copper 1.0-1.5; vanadium 0.2-0.4; zirconium 0.1-0.15, the rest being iron.
EFFECT: upgraded wear resistance of steel.
