FIELD: medicine; oncology.

SUBSTANCE: dilator is inserted into umbilical vein, 10 ml of venous blood is taken, hepatic vein and right branch of hepatoportal vein are pinched, left hepatic vein is separated, 2 ml of dipeptiven, which is a 20% solution of glutamine dipeptide, is injected into umbilical vein. Over 20 minutes blood is taken from left hepatic vein, blood urea concentration in blood from left hepatic and umbilical veins is defined. If urea concentration in the blood from left hepatic vein exceeds that of umbilical vein for more than 50%, the left liver lobe is considered functioning normally. The method enables intraoperational evaluation of functional state of liver for patients with primary and metastatic liver tumours.

EFFECT: reduced occurrence of liver deficiency; increased survival rate and life quality of patients.
