FIELD: testing equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to testing equipment and can be used for checking unclosed hollow objects for tightness, for example, in a space engineering for checking pneumohydraulic system pipeline sections conditions of notable temperature variation, as well as in pipeline transport for checking the lines for leaks of pumped over products. The proposed method consists in measuring the gas mixes parameters at the inlet and outlet of the said unclosed spaces, the aforesaid parameters including gas temperature and concentration of, at least, one of the mix component and/or gas pressure and concentration of one of the mix components. In compliance with the proposed invention, the space tightness is judged upon proceeding from the time required for gas concentration at the space outlet after abrupt change in temperature to reach the value equal to the said space inlet gas concentration, or the inlet gas pressure. Note that the data of the pressure, temperature and concentration measurements are preset-time-interval-averaged.
EFFECT: simpler control of tightness and lower labor and money inputs.
