FIELD: purification.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to smoke fumes purification, particularly, to the method and device intended for determination the CaCO3 content in scrubbing liquid of the tower-type scrubber. The method incorporates the stages of drawing off a test sample of scrubbing liquid from the existing continuous flow using a sampling trap, feeding the drawn-off volume into a measuring cell, metering out and feeding HCl into the said measuring cell and mixing up the fed volumes. The reaction terminated, pH is measured and CaCO3 content is determined by the changed pH. The proposed device contains a closed annular pipeline coupled with a pump, a sampling trap and a measuring cell communicating with the sampling trap. The measuring cell comprises the HCl metering device and pH pick up.
EFFECT: high-accuracy measurement of concentration variation in the scrubbing liquid.
