SUBSTANCE: device and method for compensating delay in packages transmission during multimedia data-flow transfer are proposed. The information showing buffering options for desynchronised stream client is transferred on the stream server. The said information contains preselected buffering parameters before the decoder in such a way that the buffering options could be determined by the server on a difference basis between the chosen client and buffering parameters before the decoder, and also the buffering parameters before the decoder provided by the stream server.
EFFECT: stream server is capable of managing optimally its speed management algorithms and speed shaping to compensate delays in package transfer.
