FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention concerns metal hydride chemistry and can be applied, for instance, in chemically bound hydrogen accumulation. Calcium hydroxide is placed in reactor and heated to 860°C by passing a heat carrier through tubes positioned inside the reactor, the carrier being a product of hydrogen oxidation by oxygen in a hydrogen burner with output hydrogen jet temperature of 2600°C; water heated in the hydrogen burner chamber to the temperature over 860°C is injected several times to the reactor through nozzles to form high-temperature water steam, direct current source is connected to clamps of cathode represented by reactor walls and that of anode, which is represented by continuous solid oxide film coating a hollow tube stopped at the bottom, with multiple through holes in its walls for outlet of oxygen absorbed by the solid oxide film into the inner space of the tube; and high-temperature electrolysis of water calcium hydroxide solution with formation of calcium hydride near the inner surface of the reactor walls.
EFFECT: method of synthesis of calcium hydride used as secure and reliable container for chemically bound hydrogen.
