FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention is meant for use in wind-power engineering. Inside a vertical case made from light strong material there is a vertical channel with a varying cross-section with the largest value in the lower base, which is an air-inlet. The vertical case is formed by upper and lower converging surfaces of a concave-convex or biconvex aerofoil profile, joined in the narrowest region through the open working chamber, in which there is a windmill, joined to a rotating shaft, mounted inside the lower surface of the case. The profiled horizontal channel is formed by the upper and the lower converging surfaces and the open working chamber, and is perpendicular to the vertical channel. The vertical and horizontal channels are made with formation of nozzles in the narrowest regions, directing the natural convectional air streams horizontally and vertically, respectively, into the working chamber with increased flow speed. In front of the nozzles, formed in the vertical and horizontal profiled channels, there are profiled flow-straightening grids, levelling the field of velocities of the air streams. In the air inlets there are profiled guide vanes, which reduce energy loss in the vertical air stream due to prevention of air swirls in the vertical channel.
EFFECT: constant and bigger flow area of the stream and conversion of kinetic energy of linear motion to kinetic energy of rotation of the shaft of the windmill.
