FIELD: power engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention is related to the sphere of nuclear power engineering, in particular, to nuclear reactor particle fuel elements. Particle fuel element of nuclear reactor contains fuel microsphere and multi-layer coating, which consists of serially applied on fuel microsphere layers of low-density polycarbon, isotropic high-density polycarbon, zirconium carbide, titanium-silicon carbide with composition of Ti3SiC2, silicon carbide and external layer of isotropic high-density polycarbon.
EFFECT: makes it possible to reduce corrosion damaging of silicon carbide layer under its exposure to carbon monoxide and hard fission products under conditions of heat cycling.
