FIELD: power engineering, chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention is related to the field of nuclear power engineering, in particular to minute fuel elements of nuclear reactor. Minute fuel element of nuclear reactor comprises fuel microsphere and multilayer protective coat. Protective coat consists of the following layers serially applied on microsphere - low-density pyrocarbon, high-density isotropic pyrocarbon, zirconium carbide, silicon carbide and external layer of high-density isotropic pyrocarbon. Between layer of high-density isotropic pyrocarbon and layer of silicon carbide there is a layer of aluminium nitride.
EFFECT: reduction of damageability of silicon carbide layer under conditions of various kinetics of silicon carbide and zirconium carbide layers swelling.
