FIELD: mechanics, physics.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method comprises influencing the liquid surface by gas jet forced out from the nozzle at preset angles streamwise and against the stream and forming a depression on the liquid surface. Time intervals limited by the moments of feeding the gas jet and those of the depression formation are measured to get their sum for the liquid viscosity to be defined. The device incorporates two nozzles arranged above the controlled liquid at equal angles streamwise and against the stream, two sensitive elements, a recorder, an air-and-electric unit, a trigger with separate inputs. The sensitive element first input is connected to the trigger first input, the said sensitive element second input is wired to the trigger second input. The trigger first input is connected to the first nozzle input and to that of the computation unit. The trigger second output is wired to the second nozzle input, the computation unit output being connected to the recorder input.
EFFECT: wider range of viscosity measurement and higher accuracy.
