FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: method of measuring viscosity of liquids and the device for realising said method can be used in different industries to determine the quality of conducting engineering processes, for example in the paint industry, production of synthetic resins etc. The method of measuring viscosity of liquids is realised by applying a gas jet from a nozzle onto a liquid. A depression then forms on the surface of the liquid. The nozzle is moved in the direction of action of the gas jet at speed at which the depression retains its given shape. Viscosity of the liquid is determined from the displacement speed of the nozzle.
EFFECT: high accuracy, wider range of measurement.
