FIELD: technological processes; transporting.
SUBSTANCE: device includes a case, collar, centering wheels, movers with electromechanical reversible drive and battery, spring device of mover clamping to the movement surface, travel speed sensor, control unit, energy utiliser, fan shutter with electromechanical drive, work medium pressure gauge. Method of the device transportation involves work fluid flow feeding to the device, obtaining work medium pressure difference on it, moving it by a force obtained due to the pressure difference, and axial force created by movers driven by electromechanical drive with electric battery to impact pipeline surface, as well as device speed adjustment, correcting speed to a given value in case of speed deviation from a given value, and speed maintenance at a given level. Speed is corrected by work medium pressure difference adjustment, directly by adjusting force induced by the pressure difference, and by switching mover drive into one of idle, moving and generator work modes. If adjustment of work medium flow to maintain a given speed is insufficient, the mover drive is switched into moving mode for acceleration and into generator mode for braking. Battery recharge is performed in the generator mode. When the battery is charged completely, braking energy is directed to the energy utiliser and dispersed in the work medium flow in the heat form.
EFFECT: improved quality, precision and efficiency of main pipeline condition diagnostics due to maintaining of regular given device speed through the whole travel distance.
