FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: steel is supplied to crystalliser from intermediate ladle through immersion bucket. The contents of nitrogen are evaluated in steel by means of samples of liquid steel taken from the intermediate ladle and crystalliser. Nitrogen of 99.9-99.0% purity is introduced into the immersion bucket and/or into solid stop of the intermediate ladle at an amount providing increased contents of nitrogen in the samples of steel from the crystalliser in comparison with those taken from the intermediate ladle at 0.0002-0.0010%.
EFFECT: upgraded quality of steel sheets surface.
