FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to powder metallurgy, particularly to methods of production of composite materials on base of thermo strengthened aluminium alloys. The method includes high energy mechanic treatment of a source crumbled material containing 20% of volume of reinforcer fractions and aluminium alloy in form of preliminary crumbled chips in a planetary activator in inert medium with quazi-cylindrical milling bodies. Then cold pressing is carried out till 80% of theoretic density is achieved followed with hot pressing at temperature of 400°C with further holding under load for 20 minutes. As an aluminium alloy tempered alloy D16 is used; at that the time interval between its tempering and high energy mechanic treatment does not exceed 5 hours. As a reinforcer a powder of silicon carbide with dispersion of 8-12 mcm is used. Preliminary crumbled chips of the alloy are produced by crushing them to the dimension of not more than 5 mm in the planetary activator or hammer crusher. High energy mechanic treatment is carried out at the ratio of milling bodies mass to source raw material mass 6:1 for 120-300 min. Cold pressing is performed at pressure of 180-570 MPa.
EFFECT: upgraded hardness of pressed semi-products of mechanic alloyed composite materials.
