FIELD: disinfection.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of special lighting engineering, namely to bactericidal irradiators for disinfecting air with ultraviolet radiation while simultaneously illuminating enclosed spaces and objects. A bactericidal irradiator with the function of an illuminator contains a protected shell with light-transmitting walls filled with heat-conducting gas or air with ultraviolet emitters collected inside, forming a volumetric module based on LEDs or a combination of LEDs and low-pressure gas-discharge mercury lamps connected to a power source, and means of mounting the irradiator on the object. At the same time, at least one pipeline with walls transparent to UV radiation is made inside the shell of the irradiator, surrounded by a volumetric UV module and hermetically connected at opposite ends to the pipes of holes in the walls of the shell to form a longitudinal channel for the passage of coolant air from the environment, UV irradiation of the air flow and its bactericidal treatment and at the same time for internal cooling of the irradiator by natural air draft during operation due to the difference in temperature and pressure inside the pipeline channel and in the environment surrounding the irradiator and due to the influence of gravitational forces. Moreover, the walls of the irradiator shell facing outward into the environment, irradiated from the inside by UV radiation, are made of a light-transmitting material with one or a mixture of phosphors integrated into the walls or applied to the inner surface, converting UV radiation into visible light.
EFFECT: invention provides an expansion of the functionality of a bactericidal irradiator, an increase in its efficiency.
