FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to metallurgy and can be implemented at production of various grades of steel for its reduction in process of melting and at its out-of furnace treatment. The briquette is produced by means of pressing of aluminium shavings with particles of the additive for which chloride-fluoride flux is used at amount of 2-5% of weight. The invention facilitates reducing prime cost of the briquette due to simplicity of fabrication, utilisation of aluminium scrap, also increasing quality of steel owing to increased share of aluminium, reacting with steel, aluminium recovery, reduction of aluminium losses and uniform distribution of aluminium in the volume of liquid steel.
EFFECT: reduction of prime cost of briquette for reduction of steel, upgrading of steel quality, reduction of aluminium losses and facilitating uniform distribution of aluminium in liquid steel volume.
