FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to metallurgy, particularly to fabricating of rails. To reduce a value of distortion of a rail after cooling a stock is subject to hot rolling to shape it as a rail with a high temperature, then cooling is carried out to the ambient temperature; at that the rail is vertically held; when the temperature of the head of the rail reaches 400°C to 250°C, the rail is naturally cooled avoiding isolation and accelerated cooling within the mentioned range of temperatures; at that vertical distortion of the rail is prevented by means of weight of the rail itself. During cooling part of the rail foot is mechanically maintained within the surface temperature from 800°C to 400°C.
EFFECT: development of such method of fabricating rail that prevents vertical rail distortion.
