FIELD: steel-working industry. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to manufacturing high-strength rails from bainite-structure steel having tip surface with high fatigue resistance under rolling motion contact required from rails employed on high-speed rail-ways. Steel containing 0.15-0.45% carbon, 0.15-2.0% silicon, 0.3-3.0% manganese, 0.5-3.0 chromium, and at least one element selected from following group: Mo, Ni, Cu, Nb, W, Ti, and B, is subjected to hot rolling, accelerated cooling (1-10 C per sec) to a temperature within the range from 500 to 300 C, whereupon accelerated cooling is terminated and rail is further cooled to lower temperature by way of natural or controlled cooling. Manufactured rail has HY hardness 300- 400 in the center of tip surface and not lower than HY 350 on rounded corner, wherein hardness of rounded corner is higher than that of rail tip surface by HY 30 or higher. EFFECT: increased strength. 10 cl, 4 dwg, 9 tbl
