FIELD: physics, illumination engineering.
SUBSTANCE: luminous plate with frontal illumination contains a lightguide panel element made of transparent material, photodiode illuminant placed so that light beams emitted by the illuminant go to lightguide panel element through its edge, also it contains a dot matrix light output structure formed on the front surface of the lightguide panel element. Gapes d1 and d2 between near points of dot matrix light output structure, correspondingly vertically and horizontally are selected from the condition of visual fusion of indicated points and don't execeed values d2=L·tg(α), where: H - height , on which the luminous plate is supposed to place, h - height of observation, L - predetermined minimum distance, horizontally measured, and from which points of dot matrix structure visually interfused, α - 1/60 degree (eye's resolution of an observer for normal acuity of vision).
EFFECT: attainment of 'continuity' effect of illuminated surface of luminous plate.
