FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: pre-form of obtained product, which contains not less than 99.9% of refractory metal, selected from group, including titanium, zirconium, is placed in nitrogen medium and heated to 2000-2600°C. Heating is carried out with electric current, and nitration process is performed during time sufficient for obtaining monolithic product from said metal nitride. When titanium pre-form is used product contains 21.0÷22.5 wt % of nitrogen. When hafnium pre-form is used product contains 6.0÷7.2 wt % of nitrogen. When zirconium pre-form is used product contains 12.0÷13.0 wt % of nitrogen. Invention allows to obtain products of complex form, having hardness from 1250 to 2000 H. Deviation from stehiometry for nitrogen being not more than 5%.
EFFECT: technology simplification; reduction of labour-intensiveness and increase of process productivity.
