FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: procedure for receiving mono-crystal of refractory metal nitride and item of it received by this procedure consists in placement of pre-form of received item containing as high as 99.9% of metal chosen from group titanium, zirconium, and hafnium in nitrogen containing medium and in carrying out process of nitriding at its heating, for example, with transmitted current during time sufficient for completion of nitriding process. As a material for pre-form there is used mono-crystal metal. Rate of heating to temperature of nitriding is 880-1600°C/min, also, nitriding process is performed at heating to temperature for titanium 1600-2200°C, zirconium 2200-2250°C, hafnium 2300-2600°C. The invention facilitates receiving metal nitride in form of mono-crystal and item of it of complex form, it also reduces labour input and raises efficiency of the process for receiving mono-crystal nitrides of metals at ratio Me:N=1:1 with deviation from stoichiometry not over 5%.
EFFECT: metal items with mono-crystal structure possessing raised temperature-time stability and chemical resistance due to absence of grain boundaries.
