FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method for producing stoichiometric titanium nitride powder, including nitriding of the TPP grade powder in a high-purity nitrogen environment and grinding the titanium nitride powder after nitriding, characterized in that the nitriding of titanium powder is carried out in two stages by direct saturation of the TPP brand powder with high-purity nitrogen at holding temperatures of 1200± 50° C and 1300± 50° C with a holding time of 1-2 hours for each temperature regime in an electric furnace, which has the possibility of vacuum pumping and operation in a controlled gas atmosphere, and between two-stage nitriding of the TPP grade powder, the powder is ground.
EFFECT: production method that allows to achieve a comparable level of nitrogen content in titanium nitride powder and, unlike the prototype, is not expensive and energy-intensive.
