FIELD: agriculture.
SUBSTANCE: method involving ungrouping of existing nests after farrowing, taking away of all piglets from their mothers, unification, weighing and distributing into three weight categories: large, average and small. Depending on the weight category, sucking piglets are hoisted to a sow farrowed on the same day, to all functioning teats, thus obtaining new formed nests, in which all piglets are foster to the feeding sow.
EFFECT: method allows to create a calmer social situation in the nest and decreases negative effect of rank behaviour reactions to small and foster piglets.
