FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: proposed ICE operation method comprises feeding an extra additive, i.e. water-alcohol mix, into the ICE intake channel air flow coming into the engine cylinders. By feeding the aforesaid water-alcohol mixes and varying their feed rate, it is possible to vary the engine boosting degree and to reduce exhaust gas toxicity. To implement the aforesaid method, the device is proposed comprising the water-alcohol mix tank, a throttling device connected with the electronic control unit, a rotor pump, a check valve, a compressed air source, an air jet arranged in the engine intake channel and operated by the compressed air source.
EFFECT: improved performances, reduced ICE thermal and mechanical loads.
