FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be implemented in various fields of metal working industry and chemical engineering at fabrication of large size metal structures. Charges of explosive substance are arranged on a plating sheet; at that the charges possess different speed of detonation corresponding to constancy of deforming impulse Id in a zone of collision along the total connectable surface during the process of explosion welding. Then the said charge is initiated. Ratio of deforming impulses Id/Id cr must be within limits from 1.0 to 1.76 where Id cr is a critical value of a deforming impulse at which energy consumed for deformation of adjacent to contacts volumes of metal facilitates required degree of actuation of contact surfaces to create a reliable connection.
EFFECT: facilitates stabilisation of parameters of wave profile of welding seam along detonation front on total surface of connected zone.
