FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be implemented at fabrication of flat bi-metallic work-pieces out of dissimilar metals. A thrown plate is positioned with a gap over a stationary plate; there is initiated discharge of explosive substance located over the thrown plate. To damp speed of plastic deformation damping devices are placed under the stationary plate in form of an easily deformed interlayer possessing property of one-sided non-flexible deformation and in form of an artificial support platform. The platform is made out of material with uniformly distributed density exceeding density of the easily deformed interlayer.
EFFECT: upgraded quality of produced bi-metallic work-piece.
