IMPROVEMENT IN COMPOSITE MATERIALS AND STRUCTURES, AND ALSO IMPROVEMENTS CONCERNING COMPOSITE MATERIALS AND STRUCTURES Russian patent published in 2008 - IPC D02G3/38

Abstract RU 2338820 C2

FIELD: composite materials.

SUBSTANCE: inventions concern components of composite materials, allowing auxetic characteristics, i.e. negative or efficiently negative coefficient of Poisson, structure made of components of composite material and method of its manufacturing. Component of composite material, allowing negative effective coefficient of Poisson contains passing along the axis the first and the second component. The first component is located around of the second component by spiraling in the form of one or more turns, dispersed lengthway relative to mentioned axis. Changing of stretching or compressing load to the first component rouses changing of radial position of the second component relative to this axis. At changing of stretching or compressing load to the first component it takes place further change of spiral diameter of the first component, and changing of spiral diameter of the first component leads to the second component gains spiral form, and/or rouses changing of spiral diameter of the second component, and spiral diameter of the second component increases at reduction of spiral diameter of the first component, while spiral diameter of the second component decreases at increasing of spiral diameter of the first component. From two or more components of composition material it is formed structure, in which both of these components are located near to each other or in the contact to each other. Method of component manufacturing of composition material, allowing negative effective coefficient of Poisson, is in forming of the first and the second components, covering by means of winding and/or spinning and/or covering of the first component around of the second element in the form of one or more turns, dispersed lengthway lengthwise of the second component.

EFFECT: receiving in industrial conditions components of composite materials, allowing stable structure and extended range of properties and ranges of application.
