FIELD: hydraulic engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used at ice jam destruction, arising at during periods of ice drift before the stream crossing. Method is in jam is destructed by means of creation under the ice in the water of high hydraulic pressure before each of bridge support at the expense of high-voltage pulsed spark discharges, at that discharges at each of supports are implemented periodically with frequency equal to vertical vibration frequency of jam ice fragments. In such conditions it is arising resonance increasing of ice fragments vibrational amplitude at bridge supports, what provoken appropriate increasing of bending stress in ice form hummocks layer of ice cover, its further destruction at the expense of river flow will provide passage of hummocked ice between bridge support.
EFFECT: improved method of ice jam destruction, arising during periods of ice dift before the stream crossing.
