FIELD: ice-breaking equipment for ice jam prevention in front of bridge during river freeze-up and in ice-drift periods.
SUBSTANCE: device is made as rotary structure cutting ice cover due to creating bending deformations in ice during structure rotation. Rotary structure is made as plate bent along radius thereof and reinforced by reinforcing ribs. Plate is pivotally connected to bridge pier by corbels and located upstream bridge. Plate with lower edge arranged under low ice edge has floating member, which provides low-pressure area beyond the plate under ice cover.
EFFECT: increased ice-cutting efficiency.
