FIELD: hydraulic engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention is intended for ice jam liquidation, appearing during periods of ice drift before the stream crossing. Method is in jam is destructed by means of creation under the ice in the water of high hydraulic pressure. At first it is visually defined place of the highest accumulation of broken ice, i.e. jam centre and three nearest to this place bridge supports with central support located opposite to jam center. Then jam is destroyed by means of creation in water high hydraulic pressure before each of bridge support at the expense of electrohydraulic effect, appearing at high-voltage pulsed discharge, discharges are made by means of electrohydraulic facilities, preliminarily installed on the bridge supports on the level of knowingly lower of low ice surface. At first it is implemented simultaneously discharges at end supports, and then after time t - at central support, at that t=(ℓ/υp)+(λ/4υp), where: ℓ - distance between supports; υp - velocity of propagation of flexural-gravitational wave in ice cover; λ - length of flexural-gravitational waves.
EFFECT: arising interference of flexural-gravitational waves exceed effectiveness of ice destruction, and river stream provides passage of hummocked ice between bridge supports.
