FIELD: physics, mining.
SUBSTANCE: method involves three electrodes embedded in rock and positioned in equilateral triangle tops in plan. Each electrode is divided in equal isolated sections in length, connected to the level switches. Level of explored geological cross-section is set by level switches. Each level switch position excites by turn current flow from electrode in one triangle top to the other two electrodes at the other triangle tops by scanning direction switch. Each level switch position and scanning direction switch position are repeatedly changing alternate resistor slide position and measuring current over electrodes. Electrode current value difference at a given rock cross-section and difference average obtained at each alternate resistor slide shift are defined at preliminary exploration of several geological cross-sections. Borders of areas with significant current difference are detected and identified as local rock area.
EFFECT: enhanced measurement accuracy.
