FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: duration and amplitude of muscular contraction in response to the challenge - gulps of water are determined by manometric method. Basal pressure in esophagus is determined, and if it changes to 9-12 mm Hg, amplitude of contraction is 34 mm Hg and more, duration - 11-13 seconds, compensated stage of esophagus muscular system alteration is detected, if pressure is changed to 4-8 mm Hg, amplitude of contraction is 20-33 mm Hg, and duration is 14-20 seconds, subcompensated stage of esophagus muscular system alteration is detected, and if there is no any alteration of intraesophageal pressure after the test, amplitude is less than 20 mm Hg, duration is more than 20 seconds, decompensated stage of esophagus muscular system alteration is detected.
EFFECT: degree of esophagus motor defects is diagnosed in time.
