METHOD FOR DIAGNOSING ESOPHAGEAL DIAPHRAGM ORIFICE HERNIA Russian patent published in 2008 - IPC A61B5/03

Abstract RU 2321338 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: method involves determining two respiratory waves growth regions, two or several respiratory waves reversion points, pressure plateau within hernia zone limits, lower esophageal sphincter length increase, no or shortened abdominal lower esophageal sphincter part, reduced esophagus length. Single or several pathognomonic signs failing, provocation test is carried out. 4 probe canals are set in esophagus for measuring pressure, others are placed in the stomach. 10-15 ml of 0.1N HCl solution are introduced into a canal as far as 8-10 cm above the upper cardia edge. 20-30 s later after contractive response beginning, the probe is conducted once more and pressure readings are recorded. Pathognomonic esophageal diaphragm orifice hernia signs being found, and/or newly measured readings changes of signs already found being recorded relative to state before test, degenerative ligament apparatus changes of ligament apparatus relative to the state before the test is determined, and starting pathognomonic esophageal diaphragm orifice hernia signs formation is considered to take place.

EFFECT: enhanced effectiveness in determining the forming artificial esophageal apparatus stimulation; high accuracy of diagnosis.
