FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: method of an external-excitation multi-transformer conversion of the capacitor discharge ignition system DC voltage can be used in operation of internal combustion engines and consists in using several output transformers, their number complying with that of the loads. Note here that their primaries, made up also of two sections yet with smaller number of turns, are connected matching into two commutator windings, the remaining transformation circuit being kept intact. This, given a short circuit condition at one of the loads and an abrupt resistance drop at the load transformer primary, makes primary voltage get re-distributed among the primaries sections of the other transformers to limit the current increase, and within safe tolerances, in the common power circuit. The latter, at a simultaneous increase in the share of primary voltage of the other transformers, increases the power of transformation at peaks of power consumption caused by spark formation, thus efficiently balancing all secondary voltages.
EFFECT: higher power of transformation at peaks of power consumption caused by spark formation, higher-efficiency impulse balancing of all secondary voltages.
