FIELD: food products.

SUBSTANCE: sample preparation in the solvent, in which every specified polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH) is soluble (for example, tetrahydrofuran (THF), acetonitrile or their mixture); application of the specified sample onto the column for gel-penetrating chromatography (GPC); elution of the specified sample by elution solvent to obtain fraction, containing the specified PAH; injection of the specified fraction without release into the system; gel-penetrating chromatography/high-efficiency liquid chromatography when solvent, in which every specified PAH has a low solubility, is added to the specified fraction; transfer of the specified fraction, without release, onto the column for high-efficiency liquid chromatography (HELC) with inverted phase; initial elution of the specified fraction by solvent, in which every specified PAH has a low solubility; individual elution of every specified PAH subject to detection, from the specified HELC column of HELC column by elution solvent; detection of, at least, one specified PAH; determination of level of, at least, one specified PAH in the specified sample.

EFFECT: better determination of aromatic hydrocarbons in products containing edible oils.
