FIELD: physics; measurements.
SUBSTANCE: present invention pertains to instrument making and can be used in making different radar or similar systems, designed for navigation of aircraft. Area map references are used, drawn up before aircraft take off. Parts of the area (sector of the terrain) on the reference map are chosen. Current maps are drawn up - parameters of the terrain sector on the reference map are measured using radio waves, transmitted in form of beams. The obtained terrain sector values of the current and reference maps are compared. The correction signal of the motion trajectory is determined, based on the determination of the difference in results of the multi-beam measurements for one (every) measurement. The aircraft is guided by correcting its position when it passes through the terrain sector.
EFFECT: faster and more accurate aircraft navigation.
